Fun With Audio

Through the years I've made countless audio clips for myself and for friends. I haven't made anything for hire that I can recall that wasn't associated with a video, so all of these were just created for my own amusement. To make these I used Bias Peak or Steinberg Cubase or a combination of the two.

Singbots

This was one of my first attempts at making robots sing. I've always felt that vocoded voices with analog music sounds good. These voices however are created by the Mac and then tweaked like crazy in Peak and Cubase to get the right sound. Lyrics by Zn70.

Stirbots

Another fun trial with singing robots. This time I added more voices and sound effects from 80s video games. These voices from the Mac are fun to work with, and I've got plans for more songs in the future. Lyrics by Marley.

KZbot

This is what I would sound like if I were a robot. I recorded my voice then vocoded it. It's just a simple plugin with Bias Peak that does the trick. However, it's limited and once i figure out a way to shift the pitch quickly and fluidly I'll go apenuts.

Animaloop

This was one of the first things I created on my mac, although I wouldn't call it good. It's just the first time i got to use a multi-track sequencer on a computer. I took a beat I liked and added a crescendo of animal noises for fun. Not very exciting.

Lazo

When Apple's Garageband came out I thought I'd give it a whirl. I'm not really into synthesized music, but what the heck. This was one of two songs I created with it. Lazo is the spanish word for loop, which was fitting for a repetitive loop with cuban-style piano.

Uno2

Another winner from Garageband (sarcasm included). This was the other song I created with Garageband before dumping it off my Mac. This song is neither here nor there but the "scratching" is still funny to me.

Pi in F major

Something from the internet gave me this idea on a boring Spring day. I assigned the first 100 digits of Pi to notes in an F major scale. Instead of having every note be equal length I tried to make it more musical. Not beautiful, but interesting. The ending is the best.
